Okay I'm never very good at this stuff, but here-goes.
I'm 44, no...wait...45! haha Had to get out the calculator.
I was born and raised in West Texas. I've been to 23 of the U.S. States, and found I'm where I belong, right smack in the middle of Texas.
I'm happily married to a smart, handsome, hard-working Cajun who hails from South Louisiana. I have one son, 23, who is an amazing deep-thinking and funny person.
I am a hairstylist, but have not been 'behind the chair' for about 8 years now. I've owned a beauty salon with 9-12 stylists, for 16 years.
We live on a farm, in a log cabin, on 35 acres. We have cattle; 2 horses; goats; chickens; peacocks; a donkey; a 'pet' deer we raised who is free-roam; One spoiled smart Beagle Dog; One formally abused/adopted Basset Hound; One quirky house cat; and about 16-18 outside cats. We plan to get Llamas and maybe Alpacas in the future, and might look into miniature cattle. We love animals, and nature.
I was raised in such a way as to know I should 'question everything'. My mother always said she would never raise "cookie cutter" kids. I raised my son in the same manner.
I don't fit into a box. My views are that, as for me and my family, we will choose to live as naturally as we feel is possible...
... I don't take anything at face value, and I don't trust what I'm told by "they". I don't take a flu shot, and I believe there is a cure for cancer. I don't drink tap water, because I did not ask to have fluoride added, and I don't want it in my, or my families systems. I've learned, the hard way, that traditional medicine is not always the best or most successful choice for me.
I don't believe we should live haphazardly and fill our bodies full of bad things, and then get sick and treat the symptoms of the problem. I believe we should, as best we can, take the utmost care of our bodies, thereby avoiding getting sick in the first place.
In the same breath, I'm far from perfect...These are the things I aspire to...and as my journey continues, I make positive progress...a little at a time.
My goal is to someday make all the pieces of the puzzle fit...
And in the mean time, depending on the day... I enjoy my photography; oil painting; art/drawing; poetry/writing; music; crochet/knitting; sewing; and reading non fiction.
Life is good. Create your own reality.
